Preface:

What is Systems Medicine and Why is it Needed for Spaceflight?

Human spaceflight is more active than it has ever been. Government space agencies are planning longer and more ambitious missions to the moon and Mars, with professional astronauts. Commercial spaceflight providers are planning similar missions, but even sending non-professional astronauts to Earth orbit will present new medical challenges in this population.
